On January 20th, our interns had a field trip to Kawan Bumi, where they had the opportunity to learn how recyclables are processed. Disposed boxes that can be found at Kawan Bumi. During the visit, they got to see how recyclable materials are collected and sorted into different categories such as paper, plastic and boxed materials. By witnessing further on how raw materials such as plastic are shredded into smaller flakes and pieces, we can enhance our understanding in approaching the importance of recycling and the effort required in the production of reprocessing items. 🕹️🦋 Let's take a vivid reminder of our role in the lifecycle of materials that could impact our planet's health.♻️♻️ A group photo with the interns and Kawan Bumi staff.

On January 17th, our interns had the opportunity to go on a field trip at Pusat Pelupusan Sungai Paku to explore and gain further knowledge on how landfills work in Brunei🌱 Our interns listening to a presentation from the Sungai Paku landfill staff. The interns learned about the process of proper waste management in Brunei. They also shared that there was less waste during the period of the pandemic. A view of the landfill site. We hope with these eye-opening visits, our interns can observe the impact of various waste on soil, water and air quality by seeing the process in Sungai Paku. Expro (B) Sdn Bhd in collaboration with CJ Technical Sdn Bhd and Green Brunei, successfully organised a beach cleanup activity at Taman Rekreasi Peranginan Pantai Lumut on December 1st, 2023. The event was attended by over 50 volunteers, including members of Expro, CJ Technical and their families, as well as members from Green Brunei. The main objective of the cleanup was to raise awareness about the importance of protecting the environment, particularly the beach, and to educate both young people and the general public on the significance of proper waste management. In an effort to improve the safety and livelihood of the community of Kampong Sungai Pandan and its surroundings, a Social Development Project is currently undergoing its second activity, which involves boardwalk repair in Kampong Sungai Pandan. The project is an initiative by Mitsubishi Corporation Brunei Liaison Office in collaboration with Green Brunei and the Ministry of Home Affairs. The project is expected to run for one month, focusing on the repair of 150 metres of boardwalk around Balai Ibadat Kampong Sungai Pandan and the jetty.
