In a remarkable feat of community engagement and social responsibility, a group of 30 dedicated volunteers has achieved a significant milestone in the understanding of the pressing needs and challenges faced by the residents of Kampong Ayer. By diligently gathering insights on housing conditions, employment opportunities, healthcare access, and educational resources, these volunteers have paved the way for crucial developments in the region. The survey, which took place in the vibrant locality of Mukim Burong Pingai Kampong Ayer, encompassed several neighborhoods, including Kampong Sungai Pandan, Kampong Pandai Besi, Kampong Pekan Lama, Kampong Setia Negara, Kampong Lurong Dalam, Kampong Burong Pingai Ayer, and Kampong Sungai Asam. Two Bruneian Delegates, Hjh Siti Norfarwizah Hj Mohd Ja'afar from Kilang ReRoot (@kilangreroot.bn) and Muhammad Hazmie Hj Piut from Green Brunei (@greenbrunei) spent their weekend in Bangkok, Thailand on the 31st March-1st April to attend a 2-day program of the EU-ASEAN Youth Conference on Sustainable Urban Development. The 2 representatives went to the conference with their experiences in organizing projects that are environmentally sustainable to share outlooks with other ASEAN-EU youth representatives during the program. The first day began with a sharing session in which youth representatives from ASEAN and EU discussed their respective organizations, followed by a panel discussion on unleashing the potential of young people in promoting sustainable urban development, in the afternoon. Green Brunei in collaboration with Projek #INFAQ1 and supported by the staff of Management Services Division, Prime Minister’s Office conducted a sungkai distribution initiative for the children of Kampong Bolkiah A and B. Volunteers prepared meals consisting of burgers, packed rice and drinks, which were distributed to 100 children from the two villages, together with sets of goodies.  The initiative was conducted to spread the joy of giving and to provide the socioeconomically disadvantaged  families with meals to break their fast and to lessen their burden during the holy month of Ramadhan. In addition to the sungkai meals, goodies and toys were also given away to the children.

UOB Asset Management Brunei, in partnership with Green Brunei, is delighted to announce the success of a tree planting event held at Taman Riadah on 19th March 2023. This collaborative initiative was supported by the Brunei Climate Change Secretariat and the Department of Environment, Parks and Recreation (JASTRe) and aimed to contribute to Brunei's national target of planting 500,000 new trees by 2035, as outlined in the Brunei Darussalam National Climate Change Policy. The tree planting event brought together a diverse group of over 100 representatives from 19 organizations, including the Brunei Darussalam Central Bank, Brunei Investment Agency, and Perbadanan Tabung Amanah Islam Brunei.
