Two Bruneian Delegates, Hjh Siti Norfarwizah Hj Mohd Ja'afar from Kilang ReRoot (@kilangreroot.bn) and Muhammad Hazmie Hj Piut from Green Brunei (@greenbrunei) spent their weekend in Bangkok, Thailand on the 31st March-1st April to attend a 2-day program of the EU-ASEAN Youth Conference on Sustainable Urban Development. The 2 representatives went to the conference with their experiences in organizing projects that are environmentally sustainable to share outlooks with other ASEAN-EU youth representatives during the program. The first day began with a sharing session in which youth representatives from ASEAN and EU discussed their respective organizations, followed by a panel discussion on unleashing the potential of young people in promoting sustainable urban development, in the afternoon. Green Brunei in collaboration with Projek #INFAQ1 and supported by the staff of Management Services Division, Prime Minister’s Office conducted a sungkai distribution initiative for the children of Kampong Bolkiah A and B. Volunteers prepared meals consisting of burgers, packed rice and drinks, which were distributed to 100 children from the two villages, together with sets of goodies.  The initiative was conducted to spread the joy of giving and to provide the socioeconomically disadvantaged  families with meals to break their fast and to lessen their burden during the holy month of Ramadhan. In addition to the sungkai meals, goodies and toys were also given away to the children.

UOB Asset Management Brunei, in partnership with Green Brunei, is delighted to announce the success of a tree planting event held at Taman Riadah on 19th March 2023. This collaborative initiative was supported by the Brunei Climate Change Secretariat and the Department of Environment, Parks and Recreation (JASTRe) and aimed to contribute to Brunei's national target of planting 500,000 new trees by 2035, as outlined in the Brunei Darussalam National Climate Change Policy. Brunei LNG Sdn Bhd, in partnership with Green Brunei, proudly announces the successful organization of a coastal cleanup at Jalan Pengasing Beach, Tutong. This joint initiative brought together a community of dedicated volunteers, including students from Sixth Form Centre Tutong and youth from Kampong Sengkarai, to promote environmental stewardship and proper waste disposal. Green Brunei, in collaboration with the Japanese Association, is delighted to announce the triumphant completion of a beach cleanup campaign at Serasa Beach. This joint initiative brought together volunteers from both organizations and aimed to raise awareness about environmental conservation and proper waste management. The Serasa Beach cleanup campaign, held on 11th March 2023, was a resounding success, demonstrating the power of community collaboration in tackling environmental issues. Volunteers from Green Brunei and the Japanese Association, including Japanese expats joined hands to make a significant impact on the cleanliness of the beach and its surroundings. During the cleanup, a staggering 57 plastic bags of trash were collected, with a combined weight of 477.7 kilograms.
