Green Brunei, in collaboration with the Japanese Association, is delighted to announce the triumphant completion of a beach cleanup campaign at Serasa Beach. This joint initiative brought together volunteers from both organizations and aimed to raise awareness about environmental conservation and proper waste management. The Serasa Beach cleanup campaign, held on 11th March 2023, was a resounding success, demonstrating the power of community collaboration in tackling environmental issues. Volunteers from Green Brunei and the Japanese Association, including Japanese expats joined hands to make a significant impact on the cleanliness of the beach and its surroundings. During the cleanup, a staggering 57 plastic bags of trash were collected, with a combined weight of 477.7 kilograms. Green Depot’s Recycling Drive at Silver Jubilee Park saw 123.14 kilogrammes (kg) of recyclables collected. Items that were received comprised of cardboard, used paper, and e-waste such as TVs, monitors and ovens.  The Recycling Drive aims to educate the public of proper waste management while also supporting the Brunei National Climate Change Secretariat's (BCCS) efforts in reducing municipal waste by 1kg per person in a day by 2035. The goal of this event is to encourage people to recycle and reduce the volume of solid waste in landfills. Green Depot, a project under Green Brunei, aims to contribute to the vision and objective of the nation to transition towards a zero waste lifestyle.

Green Brunei is starting the year 2023 with inviting the public to participate in their sustainability efforts by bringing recyclable household items to their Recycling Drive on 5th February, Sunday at the Ground Level of Kontena Park Parking Lot from 9:00AM to 1:00PM.  Items that are accepted in the recycling drive are paper, newspaper, cardboard, metal (rinsed out and emptied) and electronic waste (computer waste). A prize presentation ceremony was held today, 24 November 2022, during the closing ceremony of the Environmental Education Project at the Mangrove Paradise Resort with more than 60 attendees. The Environmental Education Project is the 3rd Edition of the Environmental Education Tour Project, a collaboration between Green Brunei, Mitsubishi Corporation and Brunei Shell Petroleum. Some 443 kilogrammes (kg) of trash was collected during a river clean-up organised by Green Brunei in collaboration with Mitsubishi Corporation (Brunei Liaison Office) at Kampong Sungai Siamas yesterday morning. The trash collected comprised plastic bottles, a fridge door, seat cushions, face masks, food wrappers and a cupboard. A rainy morning did little to deter some 200 volunteers from clearing over 1,000 kilogrammes (kg) of garbage from Lumut Beach on Sunday. Over 193 kilogrammes of litter was collected during a beach cleaning campaign at Serasa on Thursday.The campaign was organised by Network Integrity Assurance Technologies (NiAT) Sdn Bhd in partnership with Green Brunei.CEO of NiAT Lim Ming Soon led around 30 NiAT employees and Green Brunei volunteers in the cleaning activity.All participants in the cleanup were outfitted with the required cleaning equipment, including gloves and garbage bags.Participants collected 50 plastic bags of litter comprising plastic toys, metal barrel tins, scraps, plastic bottles, slippers and other garbage weighing 193.3 kilogrammes.The event was organised as an environmental corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative by NiAT.
