On 10th October, three representatives from Green Brunei took part in the launch of the Climate, Health, and Sustainability Taskforce's keystone project, "The Sustainability Initiative." Green Brunei was invited to set up a booth to showcase our efforts in contributing to climate action. We extend our sincere thanks to the Ministry of Health for the opportunity to be part of this meaningful event. Through this participation, we hope to attract more partnerships and volunteers to drive future sustainability efforts. Recycling Drive at Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium

 On 5th October, Green Brunei organised a Recycling Drive at Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium from 8:30 AM to 1:30 PM! This campaign successfully collected a total of 1,670.5kg of recyclables, including cardboard, used paper, plastic, metal, aluminium, and e-waste! This event supports Strategy 7 of the Brunei Darussalam National Climate Change Policy (BNCCP), in which one of the strategy objectives is to promote and implement waste minimisation through 3Rs. This strategy seeks to reduce municipal solid waste and industrial waste going into landfills to 1kg per person per day by 2035! 🌍♻ Some of the items successfully collected. International Coastal Cleanup Day with Brunei LNG

On 27th September, in conjunction with International Coastal Cleanup Day, a total of 93 dedicated participants from Brunei LNG, Pusat Tingkatan Enam Tutong, and Politeknik Lumut came together for a coastal cleanup at Taman Peranginan Pantai Sungai Liang. The event, hosted by Brunei LNG in collaboration with Green Brunei and supported by JASTRe, successfully collected 65 bags of trash, totalling 513.8 kg! On 29th August, with support from Green Brunei and Projek #INFAQ1, 80 volunteers under the Department of Scholarship Management, Ministry of Education, came together to make an impactful day at Kampong Bolkiah. They were divided into three groups, each participating in a different activity: one group cleaned up litter in the Kg Bolkiah Mosque’s parking lot, another sorted donated clothes at Green Brunei’s Kg Bolkiah Unit, and the rest distributed donated rambutans to the local residents of Kg Bolkiah. Building a Sustainable Tomorrow: Year 9-11 Students Gear Up for SDG Youth Camp

Students in grades 9 to 11 who attended the five-day SDG Youth Camp, which took place from August 10–14, emphasized how much they learned and how much experience they gained. The camp gave participants a forum to learn about and comprehend the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs) in light of both the global and Brunei Darussalam contexts. In order to improve participants’ leadership, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities in advance of the International School Brunei (ISB) Borneo Global Issues Conference (BGIC) in October, the camp featured discussions, tours, motivational workshops, and community activities. On 16th August, 133 dedicated participants from Brunei LNG, Sufri Bolkiah Secondary School, and Muda Hashim Secondary School joined forces for a coastal cleanup at Pantai Seri Kenangan, Kuala Tutong, and Jalan Pengasing. BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, 7 AUGUST 2024 – Mitsubishi Corporation, via its Brunei Liaison Office, has partnered with Green Brunei and received support from the Ministry of Home Affairs (MOHA), the Department of Schools (JSS), the Ministry of Education (MOE), and the Department of Forestry under the Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism (MPRT) to launch the second edition of the Social Development Project.
