|   Syazwani Hj Rosli   | MORE than 800 volunteers joined forces yesterday morning for the annual ‘Brunei Coastal Clean-up’ campaign organised by the BSJV companies. At the Muara Beach, volunteers managed to collect 360.7 kilogrammes of garbage, while Jerudong Beach clean-up resulted in the collection of a total of 3,767.68 kilogrammes of rubbish. In Danau Beach, volunteers were successful in collecting 554 kilogrammes of trash, Lumut Beach saw the collection of 898.915 kilogrammes of trash and Panaga Beach volunteers collected a total of 325 kilogrammes of garbage. The ‘Initiate Week – Rising of Social Entrepreneurs’ is a project started by Goh Chai Li, a lecturer from the School of Business, Politeknik Brunei (PB), under the Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative (YSEALI). One of the aims of the programme was to ignite the spirit of social entrepreneurship among youths, as well as creating jobs and self-reliance, while at the same time raising public awareness and engaging people with activities that serve the community better.
