Green Brunei is calling for youth aged between 16 -25 to register for the upcoming 5th Green Leaders Camp that will be organized from 27 – 30 March 2017 at Berakas Forest Reserve. The theme for this year is ‘Sustainable Agriculture and Agri Food’. This camp will empower youth to take actions upon preserving the environment and ensuring the sustainability of our natural resources. This program will cover but not limited to Organic Farming, Business in Agriculture, Food Security and Agrifood.
Green Leaders Camp aims to raise youth’s awareness of the environmental situation in the country, through the exposure of issues and environmental initiatives led by governments, local businesses, and young individuals in the country. It also aims to empower the participants through a variety of workshops such as leadership, teamwork, creativity and public speaking. The participants will be trained to analyse the environmental issues and develop possible solutions to mitigate the problems identified.
At the end of the program, participants are expected to further engage themselves with the projects or community services with Green Brunei.
Up to date, 124 youth had participated in this programme and 7 groups of alumni have successfully conducted their post-event projects.
This camp is limited to 40 participants only. Selection will be made based on their experience or passion towards environmental conservation and those who have demonstrated strong leadership skills. Registration fee is $35 per person which includes meals, insurance, certificate, accommodation and programme materials.
