The climate crisis is very much an ocean crisis, Public Affairs Officer at the United States (US) Embassy in Brunei Darussalam Jeffrey Barrus said. The US is committed to championing ambitious global targets for ocean conservation, including conserving or protecting at least 30 per cent of the global ocean by 2030, he said. In conjunction with World Book Day, Green Brunei is collaborating with Bruneians:Read to organise a Book Fundraising Campaign which will be held throughout the month of March, from 4th March 2022 until 30th March 2022.  The campaign will be raising money through the selling of the books and sticker packs. 100 percent of proceeds will be donated to Lucky Calico, an organisation that promotes the safety of stray animals and as well as sharing knowledge regarding animal care. The funds will help in ensuring the welfare of stray animals.  The objectives of this book donation are to encourage the public to read, whilst to educate the public on mitigating the issue of strays.
