On 23rd and 25th August, 120 student volunteers from University Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA) gathered at Kampong Bolkiah to lend a hand in sorting donated clothes for those in need. Students in grades 9 to 11 who attended the five-day SDG Youth Camp, which took place from August 10–14, emphasized how much they learned and how much experience they gained. The camp gave participants a forum to learn about and comprehend the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs) in light of both the global and Brunei Darussalam contexts. On 16th August, 133 dedicated participants from Brunei LNG, Sufri Bolkiah Secondary School, and Muda Hashim Secondary School joined forces for a coastal cleanup at Pantai Seri Kenangan, Kuala Tutong, and Jalan Pengasing. Hosted by Brunei LNG in collaboration with Green Brunei, everyone managed to collect 71 bags of trash, totaling 466.07 kg! On 25th June 2024, marked the start of the second SDG Youth Dialogue, which brings together young people from 15 to 25 years old with the goal of promoting the growth and empowerment of future sustainability leaders. Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD), in collaboration with Green Brunei, organised a Beach Cleanup activity on 10 June 2024, as part of the UBD-AUN Summer Camp 2024. The event took place at Serasa Beach and saw enthusiastic participation from over 150 students from universities across the ASEAN University Network (AUN) Member Universities as well as UBD students. The Beach Cleanup activity was aligned with the summer camp’s theme, “Green Horizons: Harnessing Digital Transformation for Biodiversity and Sustainable Development,” and aimed to instill a sense of environmental responsibility among the participants.
