Bank Islam Brunei Darussalam (BIBD) launched its “Projek Alam Mampan” (Sustainable Nature Project), an ambitious environmental restoration initiative aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This project underscores BIBD’s commitment to a holistic approach towards environmental preservation and restoration.   Projek Alam Mampan aims to address various aspects of environmental sustainability. The “660 Roots to a Greener Future” tree planting initiative, the first initiative being implemented under the project, focuses on SDG 15: Life on Land. Kampung Sungai Pandan, Brunei Darussalam - March 25, 2024 - Nextacloud, a leading technology solutions provider, demonstrated its commitment to social responsibility by extending a helping hand to the locals of Kampung Sungai Pandan during the Holy month of Ramadhan. On March 25, 2024, Nextacloud donated household necessities to 20 families under Projek #INFAQ1. The donation event was made possible through the collaborative efforts of 14 dedicated Nextacloud representatives. Together, they worked diligently to ensure the smooth distribution of the aid packages to the deserving members of the Kampung Sungai Pandan community with the help of volunteers from Green Brunei and the Brunei Youth Council.

The "Bergotong-Royong for Paraplegic and Physically Handicapped Association (PAPDA)" cleaning campaign was held in Kampong Kiarong on March 10, 2024. This initiative, organised by the Council for Welfare of Persons with Different Abilities (MKOKU) in collaboration with Brunei Youth Council (MBB) and Green Brunei, aimed to support the association to have a safe and comfortable space to operate in. The campaign garnered support from various entities, highlighting the community's solidarity towards aiding the disabled. Over 50 volunteers, including students from  Seri Begawan Religious Teachers' University College (KUPU SB), Sultan Sharif Ali Islamic University (UNISSA), and Paduka Seri Begawan Sultan Science College (MSPSBS), as well as the general public enthusiastically participated in the endeavour. On January 20th, our interns had a field trip to Kawan Bumi, where they had the opportunity to learn how recyclables are processed. Disposed boxes that can be found at Kawan Bumi. During the visit, they got to see how recyclable materials are collected and sorted into different categories such as paper, plastic and boxed materials. On January 17th, our interns had the opportunity to go on a field trip at Pusat Pelupusan Sungai Paku to explore and gain further knowledge on how landfills work in Brunei🌱 Our interns listening to a presentation from the Sungai Paku landfill staff. The interns learned about the process of proper waste management in Brunei. They also shared that there was less waste during the period of the pandemic. A view of the landfill site. We hope with these eye-opening visits, our interns can observe the impact of various waste on soil, water and air quality by seeing the process in Sungai Paku. The event was attended by over 50 volunteers, including members of Expro, CJ Technical and their families, as well as members from Green Brunei. The main objective of the cleanup was to raise awareness about the importance of protecting the environment, particularly the beach, and to educate both young people and the general public on the significance of proper waste management.
