UOB Asset Management Brunei, in partnership with Green Brunei, is delighted to announce the success of a tree planting event held at Taman Riadah on 19th March 2023. This collaborative initiative was supported by the Brunei Climate Change Secretariat and the Department of Environment, Parks and Recreation (JASTRe) and aimed to contribute to Brunei's national target of planting 500,000 new trees by 2035, as outlined in the Brunei Darussalam National Climate Change Policy. Brunei LNG Sdn Bhd, in partnership with Green Brunei, proudly announces the successful organization of a coastal cleanup at Jalan Pengasing Beach, Tutong. This joint initiative brought together a community of dedicated volunteers, including students from Sixth Form Centre Tutong and youth from Kampong Sengkarai, to promote environmental stewardship and proper waste disposal. Green Brunei, in collaboration with the Japanese Association, is delighted to announce the triumphant completion of a beach cleanup campaign at Serasa Beach. This joint initiative brought together volunteers from both organizations and aimed to raise awareness about environmental conservation and proper waste management. The Serasa Beach cleanup campaign, held on 11th March 2023, was a resounding success, demonstrating the power of community collaboration in tackling environmental issues. Volunteers from Green Brunei and the Japanese Association, including Japanese expats joined hands to make a significant impact on the cleanliness of the beach and its surroundings. This initiative aimed to raise awareness about the importance of sustainable practices and reduce plastic waste in the nation. In line with Brunei's commitment to environmental conservation and sustainability, Green Brunei organized the Plastic-Free National Day Celebration 2023 campaign with the objective of encouraging individuals and communities to adopt eco-friendly habits and reduce their plastic consumption. During the campaign, Green Brunei distributed a total of 1,186 reusable cups to participants and attendees. Green Brunei is starting the year 2023 with inviting the public to participate in their sustainability efforts by bringing recyclable household items to their Recycling Drive on 5th February, Sunday at the Ground Level of Kontena Park Parking Lot from 9:00AM to 1:00PM.  Items that are accepted in the recycling drive are paper, newspaper, cardboard, metal (rinsed out and emptied) and electronic waste (computer waste). The recycling drive does not accept plastic, glass, styrofoam or glossy paper.  The Recycling Drive aims to educate the public of proper waste management while also supporting the Brunei National Climate Change Secretariat's (BCCS) efforts in reducing municipal waste by 1kg per person in a day by 2035. A prize presentation ceremony was held today, 24 November 2022, during the closing ceremony of the Environmental Education Project at the Mangrove Paradise Resort with more than 60 attendees. The Environmental Education Project is the 3rd Edition of the Environmental Education Tour Project, a collaboration between Green Brunei, Mitsubishi Corporation and Brunei Shell Petroleum. Some 443 kilogrammes (kg) of trash was collected during a river clean-up organised by Green Brunei in collaboration with Mitsubishi Corporation (Brunei Liaison Office) at Kampong Sungai Siamas yesterday morning. The trash collected comprised plastic bottles, a fridge door, seat cushions, face masks, food wrappers and a cupboard.
