The “Bergotong-Royong for Paraplegic and Physically Handicapped Association (PAPDA)” cleaning campaign was held in Kampong Kiarong on March 10, 2024. This initiative, organised by the Council for Welfare of Persons with Different Abilities (MKOKU) in collaboration with Brunei Youth Council (MBB) and Green Brunei, aimed to support the association to have a safe and comfortable space to operate in.
The campaign garnered support from various entities, highlighting the community’s solidarity towards aiding the disabled. Over 50 volunteers, including students from Seri Begawan Religious Teachers’ University College (KUPU SB), Sultan Sharif Ali Islamic University (UNISSA), and Paduka Seri Begawan Sultan Science College (MSPSBS), as well as the general public enthusiastically participated in the endeavour. It was also supported by Air Balang Brunei and The Tuck Shop Kopitiam.
Their concerted efforts demonstrated how crucial cooperation is to promoting social welfare and aiding marginalised communities. Through their collaboration, they showed how deeply committed they were to promoting inclusivity and making sure that people of all abilities could contribute to the creation of a society that is more accessible and equitable.
