Belait residents invited to join recycling drive

The Green Depot invited Belait District residents to participate in recycling efforts by bringing recyclable material to their fifth recycling drive at the STKRJ Lorong Tiga Seria Mosque from 8am to noon on August 23.

Items accepted are paper, cardboard, metal, aluminium, plastic bottles and electronic waste (computer waste).

The event aims to encourage the residents to practise recycling while reducing the amount of solid waste that goes into landfills.

Users can register on http://recover.green-brunei.com to track their recycling records online and receive monetary rewards.

Green Depot is a project under Green Brunei, supported by Brunei Shell Petroleum Co Sdn Bhd. It aims to contribute to the nation’s goal of moving towards zero waste.

It was established in December 2018 for communities to save through recycling as a means to promote better waste management efforts while providing money-saving habits. Since its establishment, it has managed to collect over 36,000kgs of recyclables from over 800 users.
