On the 16th of September 2023, Green Brunei organised a coastal cleanup in conjunction with the International Coastal Cleanup for Brunei LNG Sdn Bhd at Pandai Danau in Tutong from 7:30 AM to 10:00 AM.
The objective of the beach cleanup was to raise public awareness about the significance of responsible waste management as a means to protect Brunei’s coastal areas and to contribute to efforts aimed at addressing the impacts of climate change.
Furthermore, a team of 200 passionate volunteers, including Brunei LNG employees, Green Brunei committee members, community leaders from Penghulu Mukim Telisai, Ketua Kampung Telisai and Ahli-ahli MPK Telisai, as well as students from Danau Primary School and IBTE Agro-Technology Wasan actively participated in the event to champion the conservation of the beach environment. Together, these dedicated volunteers successfully collected approximately 62 bags of trash, amounting to a total weight of over 713 kilograms.
