IF YOU’RE the type of person who absolutely love animals and appreciate art, then the Endangered Wildlife of Borneo Art Festival is a must-go.
Open to the public today from 4pm to 8pm today at the The Collective’s Maker Space, the event – organised by Green Brunei with the support of The Collective – will feature art installations based on the concept of light and animals created by students from International School Brunei, Duli Pengiran Muda Al-Muhtadee Billah College and Universiti Brunei Darussalam.
Also slated in the programme is a talk by the organiser about the endangered wildlife, the threats that they are facing and a question and answer session after.
In addition to this, there will be a special long dinner table set up for people who attend to have a communal dinner with their friends and family. There will also be about 20 different fun booths comprising unique handmade products at the festival such as Enya Bijoux with jewelry, The Natural Bar with natural cosmetics and beauty, Rae Petites with baby craft products and The Green Glass with terrariums and succulents.
“Everybody should come down! We want to raise awareness on certain species native to Borneo which are facing extinction mainly because of human activity and we are hoping to make people more aware of the animals and the steps that they can take to help try and save them from extinction,” said the founder of The Collective, Shinny Chia. “I think it’s really important to come and support the cause because animals can’t fend for themselves and their fate is really in our hands. People can shop the handmade creations from the creative entrepreneurs, grab some food, hang out at the long table and experience the light installations the kids have been working so hard on these past few weeks,” she added.
The Collective’s Maker Space is located at Batu Bersurat on the Second Floor, Unit 6, Block 16162 & 16163 Spg 68, Jalan Batu Bersurat. For enquiries or more information, send an email to thecollectiveartevents@gmail.com or info@green-brunei.com.
