Green Brunei is a social enterprise registered under Helwa’s Green Services, established in August 2012. It aims to promote environmental sustainability through education, conservation, and advocacy, focusing on empowering youth to take the lead in building a greener future.
Since its establishment, Green Brunei has worked with a wide range of stakeholders — including government agencies, educational institutions, private sector partners, and the general public — to organise diverse programmes and initiatives such as environmental camps, ambassador programmes, field trips, and the annual Green Race.
Over the years, the organisation has received national and international recognition, including the Global Citizen Youth Leaders Award (2024). Its Co-Founder has also been honoured with the Young Environmental Leaders Award (2025), Queen’s Young Leaders Award (2015), and ASEAN Youth Day Award (2014) for her leadership in sustainability and youth empowerment.
Through its initiatives, Green Brunei continues to:
-
Foster environmental awareness and promote sustainable practices across all sectors.
-
Empower youth to pursue environmental careers and represent Brunei on global sustainability platforms.
-
Support national policies, including the Green Protocol and the Brunei Darussalam National Climate Change Policy (BNCCP).
