Volunteers leave for Singapore to attend youth forum

FIVE volunteers from Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah left for Singapore yesterday to participate at Global Compact Network Singapore (GCNS) Youth Forum 2018.

Present at Brunei International Airport to bid farewell to the participants was Legislative Council member, YB Khairunnisa binti Haji Ash’ari, who is also the Co-founder and Community Engagement Director of Green Brunei.

Their participation is sponsored by Yayasan. The forum, themed ‘Sustainable Development Goals (SDGS) in Asean: The Youth Impact’, will be held from March 17 -18.

The volunteers are Amal Nazirah binti Haji Abdul Mulok, Nabilah binti Jeffery, Vanessa Teo, Md Hizaamuddin bin Abdul Haris and Nazurah Noor accompanied by Assistant Volunteer Cooridantor officer of Yayasan, Sufinah binti Haji Sulaiman.

Youths aged 17 – 30 from various backgrounds will participate in the forum. Youths from Asean+3 (China, Korea and Japan) will also attend the forum to strengthen regional ties and enhance sustainability agenda.

Participants will visit private companies as well as attend dialogues, seminars and workshops conducted by the Industry Leadership in Corporate Sustainability.
